Senior art director Daniel Buchmeier was recently promoted to ACD by PILGRIM Creative Director Holly Menges.
Menges made the announcement at the agency’s Monday morning staff meeting.
“He is a good dancer, a war history buff, and makes weird noises in company meetings. If that’s not a recipe for a promotion, I don’t know what is.”
“In all seriousness, Daniel is that rare kind of creative who has both an inherent eye for design and a broader vision of overall concept.”
PILGRIM CEO Tom Leydon echoed those sentiments. “Daniel left Denver almost ten years ago in search of bigger brand, bigger agency experience. Last year he returned, and he has re-established himself as one of this city’s most inspiring art directors and creative leaders.”
PILGRIM art director Andy Mason had a different take on Buchmeier’s success: “You can tell Daniel is creative because he wears a different shirt every day. And no shoes.”
Menges added, “This promotion was well-deserved and would have happened sooner but we challenged Daniel to grow a mustache first and it took him a long time to do that.”
Prior to joining PILGRIM, Buchmeier worked as Senior Art Director at Rubin Postaer & Associates in Santa Monica, CA, DDB Los Angeles, followed by stints at Portland’s Pollinate and FULL Creative.
