Gordy Hirsch recently joined PILGRIM as Associate Creative Director, bringing with him a pedigree of award-winning work, strong art direction and design skills, and a talent for coming up with ideas that create a flurry of buzz. Gordy will be working across all accounts and projects, ensuring inventive solutions and flawless executions.
Born in Georgia and raised in Alabama, Gordy has had to work a little to eradicate his southern accent while maintaining his love for barbeque. Counter intuitively, his favorite movie isn’t Forrest Gump nor is his favorite song, Sweet Home Alabama, but he ain’t afraid to tell a mountain lion to Roll Tide.
After letting go of his dream to become a professional tennis player, Gordy naturally turned to advertising, getting his street cred at Creative Circus in Atlanta. After graduating, he landed his first real gig at Grey and then headed out to Bend, Oregon for few years before landing in Denver, which seemed to satisfy his mountain man tendencies. He’s helped build brands such as Microsoft, Qwest, Xcel Energy, Breckenridge Ski Resort, and spent many years crafting the look and message of the Colorado Department of Transportation, including the first of its kind awareness effort about not driving high.
We love Gordy because he is always teaching us a thing or two about great advertising, contagious ideas, and the importance of winning the point on the serve. Typically, if Gordy’s not at his desk, he’s on some sort of cycling adventure, living out of his truck.
