Last year, over 26,000 homeless pets were euthanized in Colorado. The Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund (CPOF) works to prevent unwanted litters by subsidizing spay/neuter surgeries. Tasked with cutting through the “puppy and kitten clutter” a simple idea was born: Pets are not disposable.
This message delivered in direct mail, posters, TV and dumpster clings, and viewers were encouraged to donate via a check off on their State tax form. Since its inception, CPOF has awarded $1.6 million in grants to subsidize over 45,000 pet sterilization surgeries.
